After attending the University of Akron and earning a Bachelor of Arts in Business Communications, I worked in the advertising field in the Akron area for over ten years. When I decided to switch to teaching, I enrolled in Kent State University’s Master of Arts in Teaching program.
After several years in the classroom teaching technology and business courses, I returned to Kent State to add a Library Science School Endorsement to help develop my skills in digital research and literacy.
My favorite high school memories are from theater productions. The amount of teamwork and collaboration it took to pull off productions always amazed me.
What excites me the most about the Academy is the one-to-one computer environment, where students have complete access to technology that enables customization and personalized learning to happen.
When I’m not working, I enjoy exploring new technologies including video and animation, as well as making discoveries with my professional learning community on Twitter. I am also a professional ski instructor at Boston Mills/Brandywine Ski resort. In the off-season I like to ride my bike, hike and kayak.
